The International Union of Painters and Allied Trades District Council 88 is a proactive, vital and flourishing labor organization, which represents over 2,000 members in New Mexico, Oklahoma and Texas. Our members include painters, drywall finishers, glaziers, floor layers, paint makers, tradeshow decorating workers, professional employees, silk screeners and sign and display workers.  We partner with the other IUPAT District Councils and Local Unions that make up what is clearly recognized as one of the most active and effective unions in the labor movement today.

District Council 88 was established in July of 2005 and is headquartered in Georgetown, Texas.  District Council 88 is an organization that is focused on developing an outstanding relationship with its Local Union affiliates throughout the States of New Mexico, Oklahoma and Texas based on honesty and open lines of communications.  The District Council is committed to be a labor organization that can truly represent the members and provide a meaningful service to all employers.

We at the Council realize that the educational process is a continuous effort starting with the Business Manager/Secretary-Treasurer and the staff of the Council, but also including every member.  We also analyze, study, understand and implement whatever it takes to be successful.  The goal is to achieve perfection in our service and to be of greater value and profit for employers, while creating more man-hours for the members.  We constantly assess and improve the service that the District Council provides its affiliates in terms of education and other forms of assistance that will enhance their ability to succeed in building long term relationships that directly benefit IUPAT members, affiliates, employers, the industries and the organization as a whole.
